Where is going our motivation???

I have just loved this article about motivation because it is really important for us to know how to deal with it as students and as future teachers. But I think the author uses a negative stereotype about the students when he said that they do not want to learn. I can assure that we always want to learn something new, now our challenge is to encourage students to learn what we are going to teach. There are several problems that play against our labour as teacher, but motivation is the biggest one.

We must deal with this issue everyday as students too, and the article gives relevants tips about how to maintaing our motivation. Just put them into practice!

Creativity!

I just loved the way that Sir Ken Robinson put forward his ideas about creativity, the way he speaks and how he expresses herself was really amazing.

He talks about a global problem that also concerns us in a closer way, he said that Education have to change because it restricts the creativity in the people, the Education today tries to decide what skill should be more important to learn and that is not apropiatte, who can assure that maths are more important than musics or arts? No one! And the worst of this is that the situation is the same all over the world...

The only thing I can say now is to encourage you... Yes! You! The one who is reading! To try to change in everyway you can this situation, we are studying first of all Pedagogy, because we believe that for it we can change the world!

Justice for Jara's Memory....

I was really happy with this new because it talks about somenthing that concerns us as chileans. Coup d'etat was with no doubt, a horrible episode in whole chileans' lifes. Most of our families were involved in this event, and also everybody can remember this as a bad memory.

But what concerns us now is the fact that the most important figure and victim of this tortures is going to have a judgment, his case is going to be re-opened and his killer is going to be judge.

The person who I am talking about is the great musician Victor Jara, he was killed in by an officer in the Estadio Chile... This was horrible because the broke both hands so he could not play the guitar ever again...

Thanks God is killer is going to pay for this!

As chileans we should be proud!

Our strengths and weaknesses

Having read some clasmattes' blogs I have reasserted the idea that we have developed a lot our grammatical structures when we are writting, from the first year until now.

We can see and notice that all of those "common mistakes" we ussually made have dissapeared! Thanks God!

If I have to concentrate my mind in our weaknesses I should obviously say that our vocabulary is not as good as wit should be (71). I think a good way to improve it is across English songs. This is a fantastic way to do, just chose a song and look for those words you have not heard in your whole life!

Another important thing to recognize is that sometimes we are not so good at spelling words, this is a common mistake I have seen in to many posts, we have to be carefull with this because we are goig to be teachers and spelling is essenciall when we are making a class.

Motivating the study of languages!!!!

Well, I have just seen this video and I think it is really interesting about making our student be motivated to learn a new language and they use a fantastic issue to deal with this: Vocation!

In think this viedo can be very usefull for us as future English teachers because this is a foreing language and we are aware that motivation in students can be differente between them, we have to make the language a closer issue for them. Things like chating or sending emails to other contries or to people you are interested to meet can be a good way to improve the motivation in our pupils...!

Have a nice week!
